Karl DeJong is a drummer, composer and music producer who resides on the traditional unceded territories of the q̓ʷɑ:n̓ƛ̓ən̓ (Kwantlen), q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), Máthxwi (Matsqui), and se’mya’me (Semiahmoo) First Nations. Joined by Noah Franche-Nolan on piano and Wynston Minckler on bass, Karl will be performing a suite of original music rooted in the Black American Music tradition, with a focus on evocative, exploratory, and at times melancholic material.
