Jacob Wutzke is a drummer, bandleader, composer and music educator. Noted for his exceptional technique, creativity, and ability to listen and improvise in the moment, he’s an in-demand musician in the jazz and creative music scenes. Well-respected in the music community, he has been seen performing at prestigious clubs, halls, and jazz festivals across Canada, the USA and Japan. He is also a committed music educator and author, teaching private lessons to students worldwide and giving workshops, lessons & masterclasses at high schools and universities in his travels.

He has performed, toured and recorded with Caity Gyorgy (2x JUNO Award Winner), Ira Coleman, Jocelyn Gould, Bryn Roberts, Sam Kirmayer and more. He has also self-published several drum method books that have become essential practice tools for drummers around the world, and leads a successful social media community.

Jacob has released 3 albums as a leader — “You Better Bet” (2025, Cellar Music Group), “Show Yourself” (2023, Independent) and a duo album with saxophonist Lucas Dubovik entitled “Take it in Stride” (2024, Independent).
