AFTER DARK: COLIN SANKEY TRIO with Seb Chamney & Sangito Bigelow

Colin Sankey is a bass player, composer, and arranger from Vancouver, BC. Compared to virtuosos such as Les Claypool, Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, and Jaco Pastorius, he displays a mastery of techniques that stuns audiences. Accompanied by Latin percussion guru Sangito Bigelow, and guitar wizard Sebastian Chamney, Colin puts on a show complete with virtuosity, groove, and raw musicality. Influenced by Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, Chucho Valdes, and Weather Report, Colin’s compositions combine the infectious grooves of funk and salsa music with the harmonic depth of jazz. Colin is the 1st place winner of the 2022 Phil Jones Solo Bass Competition and the 2nd place winner of the 2021 BITE Bass Contest. George Collier has featured Colin’s solos on his channel, with over 500,000 subscribers. Having recently released his debut album Reawakening, funded by FACTOR Canada, Colin is ready to showcase his music to the world, and he has two of Vancouver’s finest musicians to help him do just that.
