JAMES DANDERFER QUARTET

Saxophonist James Danderfer explores the rich tradition of organ quartets with an illustrious line up including Chris Gestrin (organ), Tristan Paxton (guitar) and Joe Poole (drums). A popular type of jazz ensemble for club and bar settings in the 1950s and 1960s, the classic organ quartet sound is a blues-based style of jazz which incorporates elements of R&B. Expect to hear classics from the Great American Songbook along with tunes by groove legends Lonnie Smith, Kenny Dorham and Lou Donaldson.
