LORNE LOFSKY / BILL COON QUARTET

Lorne Lofsky, based in Toronto, has performed and recorded with a who’s who of the
international jazz community, including Oscar Peterson, Ed Bickert, Joey De Francesco, Chet
Baker, and Ray Brown, and is regarded as one of the greatest and most original jazz guitarists anywhere. Bill Coon, an award-winning guitarist known for his stellar collaborations, first performed with Lorne in 2018 at the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, and the two had instant chemistry together. At times straight ahead and swinging, at other moments interactive and intense, the music is always engaging as the two guitarists feed of each other’s energy and shared love of free-wheeling improvisation. Songs by Bill Evans, Benny Golson, and some of their favourite standards are featured in their repertoire.
